Hemp vegetable oil has a long history of use around the world. It is believed that its origin dates back to ancient China, where it was used for medicinal purposes and also to produce fabrics and ropes.

This oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa L.) , a variety of cannabis that does not contain THC, the psychoactive substance found in marijuana. It is for this reason that hemp oil is legal in many countries.

Among the properties of hemp oil we can highlight its high content of essential fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9), vitamins (A, C, E and various complex B) and minerals. It also contains natural antioxidants such as vitamin E and polyphenols.

The applications and uses of hemp oil are very varied. It is used in the food industry, both for human and animal consumption, as it is rich in nutrients and flavor. It is also used in cosmetics and personal care due to its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and skin regenerating properties. In addition, its potential therapeutic use is being investigated to treat diseases such as chronic pain, anxiety and depression.

Hemp oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the plant. Once obtained, it is filtered and packaged in airtight containers for conservation.

The botanical name of hemp is Cannabis sativa L., and its INCI is "Cannabis sativa seed oil". Its CAS number is 8001-29-4.

The main components of hemp oil are linoleic acid (omega 6), alpha-linolenic acid (omega 3) and oleic acid (omega 9). It also contains phytosterols, lecithin and chlorophyll.
