Bay essential oil, also known as noble bay essential oil, is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the bay plant, also known as Laurus nobilis. It is a plant native to the Mediterranean and has been used in traditional medicine since ancient times for its medicinal and culinary properties.

Obtaining method:

Bay essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves and twigs of the bay plant. First the leaves and twigs of the plant are crushed and then placed in an alembic, where they are subjected to water vapor. The water vapor carries away the essential components of the bay leaf, which condense in a separate container. The essential oil is separated from the water and packaged in a dark container for storage.
