Ravensara essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves of the aromatic Ravensara tree, also known as Ravintsara. This tree is native to Madagascar and grows mainly in the mountainous regions of the island.
The properties of Ravensara essential oil are known for its antiviral, expectorant, antibacterial, antifungal and immune system stimulating action. It also has calming properties and is often used in aromatherapy to relieve stress and anxiety.
Ravensara essential oil is commonly used to treat colds, flu, respiratory infections, sinusitis, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems. It can also help improve circulation and reduce inflammation.
In addition to its medicinal properties, Ravensara essential oil is used in the cosmetics and perfumery industry to add fragrance and flavor. It is also used as an ingredient in natural cleaning products.
Obtaining Ravensara essential oil is carried out by steam distillation of the leaves of the tree. The leaves are manually picked and crushed to release the essential oils, which are extracted by vaporization. After distillation, the oil is separated from the water and packaged for use. The quality of the oil depends largely on the distillation time, temperature and the quality of the leaves used.
